VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony has posted the following message on his official web site:

"I'd like to wish everybody a happy & bashing holidays and all the best for the new year to come! It was great to be out on the road again rockin' everybody's asses off! I would like to personally thank everyone for coming out and supporting the tour. VAN HALEN fans are truly the best and you guys are on the beach!'

"I'm not sure what the future holds for VAN HALEN, but I can tell you Sammy [Hagar] and I will be out there rocking together with the WABOS in 2005. Stay tuned for further developments."

Pretty interesting. We'll see what happens.

I heard a Sammy interview posted on another site and it sounded like the current VH tour was a one-off deal. He didn't say whether it had been like that from the begining or if it became that as the tour progressed. But he said he likes playing with his band better.

Giving all the guys in VH the benefit of the doubt, my guess is that they just don't think like a group anymore. They think like 4 individual who want to do their own thing and the group dynamic suffers as a result.

From what I've heard, it sounds like Ed is still troubled by alcohol problems which, at this point, would be real difficult to have patience with if you had to live and work with him.

It is disappointing to me but, I wasn't terribly impressed with the 4 new tunes they put on their best-of c.d. last year. Even though they weren't aweful, they were forgetable.

I wish them all good luck and suggest that Ed heads around the world (of which I am one) need to move on. I hope I'm wrong but my gut tells me I'm not.
