Hi guys,

I recently got myself a 5150 Combo and I LOVE it! It sounds soooo good!!!
But I have some little problems with it.

First one: how the hell do I get a clean sound of it? I'm serious. I plug it in the rhythm channel, but when I play with my Wolfie special it's distorted as hell. To get a halfway clean sound out of it while strumming, I have to swell down the volume on my guitar. I mean, that can't be the solution, can it?

Second one: The amp didn't come with a footswitch, so I bought a 2-way- footswitch of a different company, but it doesn't work. Is there any trick to it, so I can make it work? I feel real stupid, but I thought you peaople around here can maybe help me out with those little problems.

Thanks guys,

Cheers

Hey Tease,

The rhythm channel on the 5150 is just that. It's not really a clean.
I play a 5150 II, and to get a "clean" I turn the "crunch" off and roll back the volume on my guitar. I can get a pretty nice sounding clean by doing that.

As far as the switch goes, I think you have to use the propietary Peavey pedal. I'd drop their customer support line a call. You can pick one of those up fairly cheap new, and I've seen them on Ebay from time to time.

Hope that helps!

you can also try checking the amp setting registry, but most luck ive had acheiving a clean tone is rolling back the volume knob like dimebag said. Regarding the footswitch, any two button peavey footswitch should work, just check out their website and brose around, there are only a few of them available. When I had my combo, it didnt come with the original footswitch, but I used a Vox one and it worked perfectly. But ur better off finding a real peavey one.. good luck!
