Murphy-

Other than the relocation of the 3 way switch and maybe the volume/tone knob the Axis are identical to the EVH's.

For practical purposes the Axis are the same as the EVH.

However:
-The Axis neck is slightly wider at the base
-There is a rear body contour on the Axis which doesn't exist on the EVH
-The route for the pots and switches is very large on the Axis compared to the EVH. It will easily accomodate two pots and a switch. This cavity on the EVH will only fit one pot.

I believe the trems are the same. Everything I've heard is that the pickups are identical.

Without looking I believe I was told somewhere down the line that the EBMM EVH have a little different string saddle(offset) on the Tremolo- do you have a good pic I can look at of a Axis?

You might be right about the saddles. The way they screw might be different on the EVH. But the actual trem is the same.
