I own an EVH, a Wolf Special and a Wolf Standard hardtail. Generally, my favorite tends to be the one I'm playing at any given time.

People from both camps tend to dis the other but honestly, there's something to love about both.

I won't get into the positives and negatives but they are there. Over all thoguh, they are great guitars with very consistant quality from guitar to guitar.

I own an EBMM, don't own a Wolfgang (I wish I did though, so if anyone has one for sale let me know), but I've played a standard and a special. I liked them both. The EBMM has a slightly different neck I found, but after the first year or so the Wolfgang's became on par in terms of playability. As for quality, well, there are going to be obvious differences between 2000 a year production and however friggin' many of the Wolfgang's Peavey makes. But I guess it's all up to the player. They both rock.

I've had my Ernie Ball for about 10 years & want to stop gigging w/ it & use it only at home (it's taken enough abuse & frets are getting pretty worn). I plan on picking up a Wolf later this year for playing out. I've played them and, once you get used to the neck, you feel right at home (if you're used to the eb)

I still think it's funny, though, that Peavey is charging more for a top-model wolf than Ernie Ball ever charged for the EVH model back in the day. Watch out for the Korean models though, I seriously doubt you're getting an actual basswood body (more like plywood).

Nope. The Korean made Wolfgangs have basswood bodies. Not plywood. There is a sheet of maple veneer on top of that which gives it the quilted top. The pickups are made from the same parts as the US Wolfgangs. They're just assembled in Korea. The neck has no graphite reinforcement rods and has a thin layer of lacquer on it.

I've seen a few Wolf QT's (the Korean model) in stores and have to admit I don't think they feel quite like the US models. Also they had loose pickups. This is an easy problem to fix but it does beg the question, why couldn't they fix them before they left the factory.

I do think they're a decent value though.

First time I picked up a EBMM EVH it felt like a small plastic toy

I was laughing to my self when I picked her up maybe 6/7 lbs at the most-

The Emerald Green EVH I picked was bitchen looking and ended up sounding better than the Red one and Blue ones which I tried also.

The Guitar Center Rep. told me that they were not making the Emerald Green ones anymore and that one might be worth some money... someday. That was early 1992- I paid $1750 with a Ernie Ball Gig Bag.

I played her for about 5 years then traded The Emerald Green EVH to a Japanese guy for his Sunburst EB EVH MM, / 1980 Tokai LS120 Reborn "Old" / 1979 Tokai Reborn LS80 and a 1979 Tokai Reborn LS100..

I made my $1750 back alone by selling the Sunburst EVH, I still have the 1980 Reborn "Old" LS120 but sold the other 2 Reborns( I regret that ! )-

Point being-The Jap guy who now is my friend sold me back my baby for $3K-
Now I feel Whole again Embarassed

I've got a Wolfie Special, EBMM Axis Super Sport and an EBMM Axis Sport. Currently gigging with the Sport, don't know why though was gigging with the Wolfie. Just a bit of a change I guess.

It almost seems like they're simply "different" rather than one better than the other. I am currently looking for a wolfie to share space with my EBMM Axis SS MM90. I've been putting some miles on a creme colored Wolfgang that's at a local Guitar Center.
